WYS - IDENTITY - EMAIL FOOTER

Using an email signature can be very beneficial in the real world, helps to make every email that you send more legitimate. For starters, we have already purchased our own domain which means we can have a professional looking address which already makes us look more legit. The idea behind the footer s to reinforce this legitness in the hope that it helps to strengthen the relationships that we are making via email. 

An email signature is much like a digital business card, the information is very short and needs to be somewhat eye-catching to be seen at the bottom of the email. Having already got a working design that I was happy with from the business cards I choose to emulate this on the email signature as it helps to keep all the touch points consistent. However, this time I thought it might be more appropriate to add social media handles as you can put a direct link to the social media site in this case Instagram. 

I created a number of designs first of all to get an idea of how it was going to look, having designed them in illustrator I was unsure how I was going to make the signature clickable once it was embedded within the email. This actually turned out to be a lot more difficult than I had first intended. After watching man YouTube videos about how to create a custom email signature using illustrator I decided that it would be much cleaner to use the Apple Mail app which allows you to create your own email signature. 

Using the Apple Mail app I was then able to easily create the signature just be using text within the email, this was a much better way of doing it as before the signature would be added as an attachment which I did not want. Now it is easy to choose which signature I want to use on each of the emails that we have for WYS. This is also the most standard way of doing a signature on email so it will ve see as professional to others.
