Studio Brief 02 - Product, Range & Distribution - Production

Final Design -

My development stage allowed me to explore a range of ideas, I then used the feedback that I received to come to final decision on what designs to take forward. I have chosen the designs below as I felt they were the best at raising awareness in the best tone of voice, it is making people think rather than stating harsh facts, I didn't think that would work as it give off a very negative tone of voice.

Most water bottle labels wrap fully around the bottle, I decided that because I using a square shaped bottle it would be much easier/look better that the label applied was more of sticker stuck to both the front and back. To finalise the design I measured out the sticker size for the bottle and the resized my designs on to the sticker. At this point I had to decided what sort of material the sticker would go on, firstly I thought about having it on clear adhesive but I did not think the design would "pop" as much as it does in white. So I have decided that the design should be printed on to gloss adhesive so that the design can be seen well from the shelf as well as it be long lasting so that people can reuse the bottle.

For the printing I was able to use the university printing facilities this made producing the final outcome a lot easier as there is the right resources available. I had to make the decision between clear sticker or white I choose white as it means the design will stand out better, clear might have made the design illegible. This was easy to print straight out on to the sticker paper, all that was left was to cut them out and stick them on my bottle.

To create the final product I had to cut the stickers out, this could the be applied on to the bottle like I had shown in my original design. Once the bottle was complete used the photography studio to photograph the final piece, I will then be able to use the photos for showing the final product as well as part of the social media campaign.

Social media/distribution -

Distributing the work correctly is very important as you want it to have the right now of voice so it can appeal to the target audience. Looking at how other charities have distributed there products through advertising I have seen that producing print posters can be very effective is they are placed in the right place, I will be able to show through mockups how the posters can be distributed. Social media is also another way that the product can be distributed, using a social media # it makes it very easy for people to follow the campaign, tis works especially well for the younger side of the target audience as this is how most young people see things of this nature. By photographing the new bottle this means that Belu Water can post on their social media pages to tell people about the product, this then links well with the printed posters that will be situated in city centres, student areas, transport interchanges, these are all places that will help to bring awareness to the campaign.
