Studio Brief 02 - Product, Range & Distribution - Extended Research

Limited edition bottle design - 

To get a better idea of how I could design the water bottle for Belu I wanted to look into other brands that have produced limited edition designs on their bottles as I felt that there is many ways in which a design could be added to a bottle. 

This evian x Kenzo bottle shows how you can use the see-through bottle to magnify the design, and it also works well as a sort of layer and you are able to get a very nice effect that is only given by the water. This also shows how playful you can be with these sort of designs, it is simple but it is bold and would catch someones attention if it was on a shelf. 



Evian have done many collaborations with designers they have shown how interesting you can make packaging for water, this is the sort of limited edition bottles that people would be eager to get as they are some sort of collectable, this could be achieved using Belu water. 

As well as water I looked into other bottles, there are many beer bottles that have been done to help celebrate occasions as well as more playful designs that have been done for Coca-cola packaging, which a lot of people seem to get very excited about. 





Belu Water (branding)- 

The Belu brand is about being different - "We’re a widely available ethical brand that’s found in many top restaurants, bars, hotels, and corporate venues. We believe in beautiful design, using the most environmentally responsible processes and materials available. We go further and do more than any other mineral water brand.

I have looked into their branding as it was vital that I understand how the brand works what their ethics are and how I can work with their exciting brand to design a new water bottle design. I was able to find their brand guidelines and this gave me a good insight into what the brand is about and how they want their products to be seen. 




They sell their products to aa wide range of customers (mainly restaurants) this suggest that they are an upmarket brand which attracts a similar target audience. This could a disadvantage to the bottle design as the bottle design should be sold in supermarkets and be make available for everyone so that the awareness can be spread as much as possible. This is something that I will have to look at in the development stage, as I think they could release a cheaper range to be sold to the masses. 



Posters/advertising

Their brand is very simple, and I feel that I would be able to use these posters as inspiration for my water bottle design. As this text is very bold, it is very distinguishable people will be able to recognise the brand easily.
