Studio Brief 02 - Product, Range & Distribution - My Brief

From researching I have been able to start directing my project the way I think it should go, however the main brief is very vague so it make sense to right a second brief that links better with my research so that I am able to put together a practical response to the overall brief and address the issue at hand. 

Background - 

The global water crisis is something that currently effects 1 in 10 of the world's population, although it is currently not an issue in developed countries both the awareness of the issue and the scale is something that a lot of people in these countries are less aware of because it does not immediately effect us. Design is a very powerful tool that can be used to show developed nations what they can do to help put a stop to the water crisis that effects so many of us. In this country we are very fortunate to have access to clean water when ever we need it, but if we continue to ignore how we use water who knows how long it will be until it has an effect on all of us. 

The challenge - 

If this issue is neglected by 2050 the whole world could have issue with clean water so its up to the younger generations to take control of how we address this issue, but we can't all address the issue if we are unaware of how to make a change. There are many charities that focus on getting clean water to developing countries but what can the younger generations do to make the future brighter? By using design create a way that we can bring awareness to how these people can help to change the way we think about water and the value that it has. 

Considerations - 
  • How can you get a young audience to actively think about their use of water
  • What charities/organisations can be involved to help bring the awareness 
  • What has been done already and how can you build on that
