Studio Brief 01 - Type In Context - Visual Presentation & Feedback

To start coming up with ideas on how to use my pictures I was asked to produce a engaging visual presentation that would communicate an overview of my images, this would the benefit myself as I was receiving feedback on how I could inform my approach to the brief. As I has very unsure about how to collate my photos I decided that I would create a very open presentation with a wide verity of typographic examples so that people could then begin to help help me come up with possible ideas for the publication for this brief. For my presentation I showed a small sample of the photos that I collected, these were photos that I thought people might be able to expand on, as I don't want my book to become a coffee table book as many of these books are very beautiful but they have no story or underlying concept and can become very tedious.

The presentation was brief, I wanted to explain to people what I had produced over the summer and how I hadn't really thought about how I was going to put everything together, which people understood and I got some interesting feedback. There definitely somethings that I can go and research and expand on, one of which is French design but more specifically typography. An idea that was suggested to me was very eye opening, we spoke about of France is one of the most diverse countries in the world and it has many influences, so I should start to look into the diversity of French typography. I can see this being a very interesting way to contextualise my pictures into a publication.

My next step is to write up 2/3 ideas that could be developed on, but before I start to think about ideas I need to research into French design, mainly typography so that I have a better understanding of what a target audience would be looking for.
