Avant Post - Paris
Avant Post is an art direction studio founded by Quentin Berthelot, Johan Mossé and Adrien Weibel. They design communication solutions across various platforms for both public and private sectors. Their approach is based on a strong creative concept, they develop very strong responses for projects, supported by a particular attention given to typography. Their work is very current and os keeping up with trends but they also have a very unique and quirky style that is shown through the experimentation with colour and type through out their many works.

Bureau Kayser - Paris
A versatile design studio based in Paris. Their work includes art direction and graphic design for varied productions. "Bureau Kayser creates timeless solutions with strong base of reflection and composition to offer unique and contemporary solutions adapted to every project." The style of book designs that they have produced are very innovative that inspiring, as they are also showing off the work in a very interesting and unique way that helps to sell the project too. The photography of the work is also very clean and relevant
I hope that this is something i can look into further when I get to this stage of my production.

Catalogue - Lyon
catalogue is a graphic design practice based in Lyon, France. It provides visual identities, paper and web based communication, books and signage for cultural, institutional or industrial fields. Their style of publication design is very trendy but still helps to get the job done, I want to be able to take this sort of route with having a book that is slightly out there and being more interesting than the normal travel guides.

In the pool - Paris
Their work is experimental and vibrant making it very engaging, as you can see from some of the examples they are not afraid to play with colour and layout when it comes to publication design. This is something that I think I can take from their work and hopefully experiment with interesting layout when I start to put together my book.

Design Origin - France
Below are a few quotes and points that I took from the book that I felt helped my knowledge on the french design industry past and present. I was expecting the book to have a bit more about the history of design in France but it was more about the current affairs the design industry.
- "French and Japanese design share a common interest - (sober and minimalist aesthetics)."
-
Art Nouveau, Art Deco
- Roland Ansieau, Cassandra (bold geometric shapes)
- "Many luxury brands have recently put the spotlight on French artists, by combining their characterful artistic expressions with these firms’ history and expertise. - Hermès and LV."
