Stupid Git, John Altman

The Public Information Film 'Stupid Git, John Altman' begins by getting everyones attention, by saying that 'most of us can handle our motors after a few pints' as this could apply to many as the scene that is set thought the visuals looks like a normal night out to most. Straight away it shows the viewer that the smallest things could cost you, and it wouldn't have the best outcome so using very minimal sound they have managed to capture everything that someone might hear if they are under the influence, this would be to help people understand that drink driving is stupid and can cause many problems for yourself and for others.

In the film they want to show that something like that could happen to anyone, so they show a few incidences from not so bad to the worst. This would be done so that  the person driving would comes across as the bad guy and people would see that and not want to be seen as this or to have the consequences. The only fact in the film is that people should not drink and drive so the film tries to show why you shouldn't and what can happen to you.

The voice-over helps create a good tone of voice in the clip, by using slang words and talking in a calm way people will not feel as if they are being told off but they will release the harsh reality of what they could do if they do what happens in the clip. The voice-over helps connect the audience with what is going on, it is voiced in a way that people of the target audience 18 plus will understand and connect with. So that they will understand what they are doing is wrong and they can think about what they do before they do it.
