Study Task 07 - What is a Book? - Folds

Continuing the development on small publications, today I looked at folds. The way in which publications and leaflets can be folded to create a more interesting publications just from having unusual folds. 

I have collected a few examples to look at the way they have been folded and which one looks and works best. The first example I looked at was a poster-zine, this means that it is a poster than has been folded in such a way to make it feel like a magazine but intact if you fold it out it becomes a big A1 poster. This is a very simple technique but looks very good when it has been made well as it is compact has two purposes.

The second example that I looked at was a more complicated fold, again although it uses just one piece of paper the folds create a more interesting leaflet/poster. The example is some sort of fashion lookbook and the folds have been created so that it is more interactive for the reader as you have too move the paper around as you read it.

When looking for another example I came across this Youtube channel that shows people different type of folds that can be used for publications. The study was that was given too us for this was too create a guide of how to fold a certain type of fold. As this video is very quick I thought that it would be useful to create a visual guide that went with this.
