Studio Brief 03 - Exhibition Branding - Presentation / Feedback

The Concept -

The final idea before the presentation, the exhibition is now called The Vault - Contents Unknown we went with this name because we are trying to to make the idea of people coming too see money more exciting because its that fun but this would make it more exciting if there is a sense of secrecy to it. The Vault will have laser themed wayfinding that will lead people into the exhibition room from the main door, the lasers are the underlaying theme in the vault. These lasers will then lead a trail around the room as a general direction of people to view the work. There will also be a section where tote bags will be screen printed for people these they can then take home, included in this will be a couple smaller versions of the exhibition branding that they can then take away as a memento. The work will be displaced very simply by just having them mounted on mount board these will then be stuck on to the wall with a small 140 character description next to it. Music will be played through out and we are hoping that can get in touch with a local beer company to supply beer for the opening event.

The Presentation -

We then were able pitch the idea to the tutors. This was was extremely useful and we gained a large amount of helpful feedback. Points that were made was, screen printing could be messy and a lot of work for a small group of people to take care of, to be careful not to put to much emphasis on screen printing as it is traditional printing which involves all kinds of printing. To really expand the visual identity and think about logos more and have more of an identity as ours was not strong enough. Also it is a exhibition focusing on the traditional print so debit cards and atms may not fit into the theme as its more digital but to try and retain that aspect of interacttion within the exhibition.

Reflecting on this feedback we decided to get rid of the credit card invitations, rethink about how our screenprinting instialtion would work, we could use glow in the dark inks for posters which could be posted around the city and would work at night time as the lasers would glow.
